A look at some of the most costly mental mistakes in golf history
Dustin Johnson arrived at the final hole of the 2010 PGA Championship at Whistling Straits with a one-shot lead. After making a bogey, he walked off thinking he was headed to a three-man playoff with Martin Kaymer and Bubba Watson. Wrong. Johnson was informed that his second shot had actually been played from one of the course's seemingly countless bunkers that had been trampled down by fans outside the ropes. Since he had grounded his club, Johnson was assessed a two-stroke penalty, dropping him into a tie for fifth place. Johnson's gaffe wasn't the first blunder concerning the rules in the game's history and sadly, it won't be the last. Here's a look at some of golf's most famous errors.
